Writing and SEO with AI: tools, limits and proofreading

Drafting, optimising an article for Google, checking whether a text came from an AI: different tools for different needs.

In brief

Assisted-writing tools and detectors answer two opposite needs: producing a text faster, or checking where it came from. No detector is 100% reliable, and no writing tool removes the need for a human read-through. Our pages set out the free plans the publishers advertise, their limits, and a method for using these tools without taking risks.

What text do you need to produce or check?

  • Check a dissertation or an article for plagiarism: best plagiarism checker →.
  • Check whether a text came from an AI: no dedicated page yet. The Déclic assistant can point you to the detectors in the catalogue.
  • Write optimised blog posts: no dedicated page yet. The assistant can point you to the writing and SEO tools in the catalogue.
  • A dissertation or academic text: see the plagiarism page above, and read your school or university's rules before using any writing tool.
  • Emails and posts: no dedicated page yet; the Déclic assistant can point you in the right direction.

What do we say about AI detectors and plagiarism checkers?

best plagiarism checker → compares three tools on their free limits, explains how to read a similarity score without panic, and shows why you should read each tool's privacy terms before uploading a document. On AI detectors, the same caution applies: a score is a statistical estimate, not proof, and false positives happen. Plagiarism and AI-generated text are two different checks.

What do we say about assisted-writing tools?

There are two families: brief and optimisation tools (Frase, NeuronWriter) and writing tools (Koala, Wisewand). The advice is the same for both: never publish a text that nobody has read. Google's guidance on AI-generated content focuses on whether it is useful to the reader, not on which tool produced it.

Which tools are in this category?

Déclic does not present any tool for getting around AI detectors and does not promote them.

Frequently asked questions

Can an AI detector prove that a text was generated?

No: it gives an estimate, and false positives are documented.

Are plagiarism and AI-generated text the same thing?

No, they are two different checks. For plagiarism, see best plagiarism checker →.

Can you publish a text written with AI?

Yes, if the content is useful, checked and proofread.

Which free tool should you try first?

It depends on your need: detecting AI text, checking plagiarism or writing. best plagiarism checker → states the limits of each free plan for the checkers it covers.
